- Road Runner Sports, 1807 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852, on Friday April 26, 2019, from 4pm to 7pm; and
- Pulse Fitness on Saturday April 27, 2019, from 12:30-5:30pm. Pulse is located at 5110 Ridgefield Road, 4th Floor, Bethesda at the corner of Westbard and Ridgefield just off River Road. Free parking is available in the lot.
What should I wear?
You can wear the race shirt you are given or any other white t-shirt so you can proudly show off your “color splash” at the end of the race. The color is safe (corn-starch based) so don’t worry about getting it in your eyes – color throwers aim low.
Where do I go for the race?
The race will be held at Meadowbrook Park in Chevy Chase (Address is 7901 Meadowbrook Lane, Chevy Chase). The park entrance is off of East West Highway at either Beach Drive or Meadowbrook Lane.
What time should I get there?
Road closures on Beach Drive and Meadowbrook begin at 8:00 am so arrive before then in order to park, otherwise it’s much harder to find us. The race warm up begins shortly after 8:00 am so plan to arrive by then to join in the pre-race festivities and warm-up lead by Pulse Fitness trainers. A group of Westlanders will sing the National Anthem before the 8:30 am starting gun.
Here is a tentative schedule:
7:00 Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-up
7:45 Race Day Registration Closes
8:25 National Anthem
8:30 5K Race Starts (walkers please line up at the back)
8:45 Post-race DJ Party
9:30 - DJ Announces Raffle Prize Winners
10:00 - Post-race party ends
Where do I park?
We recommend parking in the lot at Lycée Rochambeau (the French International School at 3200 Woodbine Street, Chevy Chase) or along Beach Drive between East/West Highway and the race course. It's a short walk from both locations to the footbridge at the traffic light that will take you right to the start/finish line. You can also park within the park along Meadowbrook Lane or at the Meadowbrook Maintenance Facility parking lot. But, remember, Meadowbrook is the last road to reopen after the race so you will be stuck there until the last runners/walkers come in. Beach Drive reopens first.
Parking is also available in the neighborhood off of Beach Drive but please obey all posted parking signs.
What roads will be closed?
Beach Drive and Meadowbrook Lane will be closed by Park Police beginning at 8am and during the race. Beach Drive will re-open first and Meadowbrook will remain closed until the last runner/walker comes through.
Should I bring water?
There's no need to bring water. We will have a water station along the course and plenty of drinks and snacks at the end of the race.
Is there a course map?
The course starts and finishes at the Candy Cane City Pavillion in Meadowbrook Park and is a fast, flat course that travels along Beach Drive and through the park's paved walking paths. A map is available below (click to expand):
What happens after the race?
We'll have plenty of snacks and waters as well as entertainment from DJ Chaos and raffle prizes.
Will I be able to find out my time after the race?
Yes. Race results will be available online at http://racinemultisports.com/results/ right after the race.
Are there bathrooms?
There will be four port-a-johns available for runners, walkers, spectators, and volunteers.
